The Eternal Scroll of Israel
The Ministry of Education asked me to make a special artwork for the Bible Quiz and Israel’s 76 Independence Day.
I poured my heart into crafting a unique scroll, telling the story of our people during a dark day, October 7th, the worst attack on us since the Holocaust.
I drew inspiration from ancient Jewish scrolls and used mixed techniques to achieve an authentic and powerful look. It's a story of pain, but also of hope, connecting the past with our present. I combined hand-drawn illustrations with quotes from the Bible, giving depth to the tale of October 7th and new meaning to the quotes. It's like breathing new life into history, making it a part of who we are today.
The scroll is massive, stretching 11 meters. And on each end, there's a big wooden handle I carved. The remaining rolled paper on one side represents the past, and on the other the future we're still writing.
It's a reminder that we're all part of this never-ending story - the Eternal Scroll of Israel.
